The Drums – Money Single Review
For many, The Drums were the sound of summer 2010 and now they are teasing a new album with the release of this single
A year after a successful debut album which had all the plaudits declaring them the best thing out of New York since the Strokes, The Drums are back with their second album, from which Money is the first single.
Not much has changed; this is instantly recognisable as The Drums, if a little too familiar but why change a winning formula. The basslines drive along, colliding with synthesiser and vocal melodies that are memorable and easy to sing along to. It’s a track that favours repeated listening: once the chorus hooks have well and truly stuck, the song becomes incredibly addictive.
Bring on the album out next Monday.
