Review of Bear Driver- Never Never
The track “Never Never” marks the first release from Bear Driver’s debut album, a short sample from the currently untitled album which is expected to be released in the spring of 2012.
The song is slow-paced with a haunting ethereal quality, however its sad tone and wistful lyrics are offset by a light, floating melody and simple, appealing guitar chords. The track’s absorbing melody and slow tempo provide a soothing, gentle listening experience which is further enhanced by the sensitivity of vocalists Harry Dean and Oli Deakin. The band effectively develop the lilting dreamlike feel of the song with gradual instrumental layering, creating a warm, psychadelic and unforgettable sound. The track is a good taster of what lies ahead in the forthcoming album.
