X Factor Bosses Worried by Kelly Rowland’s Tour
Kelly Rowland is alleged to have seriously worried bosses on The X Factor by choosing to embark upon a North American tour mid-series.
It was announced yesterday that the Destiny’s Child singer will join Chris Brown for three weeks of his 28-date jaunt across Canada and the US from September 12.
Rowland’s supporting slot means that she will return to the UK just days before the live stages of The X Factor are set to begin.
“Kelly is taking a real risk jetting off in the middle of her first series of The X Factor,” a show source said. “Some of the cast and crew are worried she is not taking it seriously.”
In response, an X Factor spokesperson insisted that Rowland remained dedicated to her judging role, and brushed off concerns about the singer not being able to meet with the contestants she is meant to be mentoring.
“She plans to have regular Skype chats and phone calls while she’s on tour,” the representative confirmed.
Rowland will make her X Factor debut alongside Louis Walsh and new judges Gary Barlow and Tulisa Contostavlos when the show returns on August 20 at 8pm on ITV1.
