Lloyd entered The X Factor last year, choosing to cover Hilson’s ‘Turn My Swag On’ as her first audition song.

Hilson told MTV of Lloyd’s rendition of her hit: “I’ve never met Cher Lloyd but I attribute. I mean I thank her.

“I attribute the fact that ‘Turn My Swag On’, my version, charted here in the UK and other places in Europe actually because of the X Factor performance of my song.”

Hilson, 28, explained that she was “flabbergasted” a “16-year-old white girl” would use one of her tracks as an audition piece, describing it as a “great moment for [Lloyd] and for [herself] as well”.

When asked whether she is looking forward to Lloyd’s new material and about the prospect of working with the teen rapper in the future, Hilson responded: “I’m very excited to hear her music. I really can’t imagine what her music would sound like. I would actually love to write for her, though. I’ve got some ideas in my own head…”

Hilson recently announced that ‘Pretty Girl Rock’ will be her new single in the UK and is released on July 4.
